Profile of the Senior Management TeamMr. Sheldon Cyrus - Managing Director
The Board of Directors of the Trinidad and Tobago Postal Corporation announces the appointment of Mr. Sheldon Cyrus to the position of Managing Director, with effect from June 22, 2009. Mr. Cyrus, an Attorney-at-Law, obtained the Bachelor of Laws at the University of the West Indies, and professional accreditation from the Hugh Wooding Law School. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of the United Kingdom. A Queen’s Royal College alumnus, he was a 1988 National Scholarship winner in Modern Studies. Mr. Cyrus’ executive background includes service as Assistant Corporate Secretary of the Public Transport Service Corporation and Business Analyst at MCT and Associates Limited. Appointed Corporate Secretary of National Flour Mills (NFM) Limited in 1996, he rose to General Manager, Legal and Corporate Services, and later acted as Chief Executive Officer where he initiated a restructuring of the company. Following a ten-year tenure at NFM, he provided legal consultancy services for several corporate clients. Mr. Cyrus is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the College of Science Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT); a board member of the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC); and a member of the Mediation Board of Trinidad and Tobago. TTPost looks forward, under Mr Cyrus’ leadership, to advance the positioning of the organization toward delivery of the future of postal services in Trinidad and Tobago. Mr. Robert E. Hernandez - General Manager, Operations
Robert E. Hernandez joined the Corporation’s Senior Management Team in June 2008, as General Manager, Operations. Before entering TTPost, Mr. Hernandez held the position of Manager, Postal Operations for the Long Island New York District of the United States Postal Service (USPS). Mr. Hernandez brings over twenty years of senior management experience in Postal Operations to the Corporation, having managed a wide range of portfolios, including Superintendent of Postal Operations and Operations Manager. Mr. Hernandez earned a bachelor of Business Administration degree from Bernard Baruch College, City University of New York, and a Master of Business Administration degree in Management from Dowling College, New York. He is the recipient of a Diploma in Executive Leadership from Duke University and has a certificate in Strategic Planning from The American Management Association International. Mr. Hernandez is also a graduate of the United States Postal Services W.F. Bolger Center for Leadership Development, with certificates in Advance Leadership, and Processing and Distribution Management. With his appointment, Mr. Hernandez has assumed overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and strategic development of the Corporation’s Operations Division.
